Orlando is basically the theme park capital, so of course Universal Studios is super close to Disney World. I was sure Universal was awesome, but what really drew me in was Harry Potter World. I've read the series probably at least 20 times, but I had to reread it one more time before we went.
It was super weird being in a theme park that wasn't Disney, and being somewhere where I actually didn't know anything about the rides or anything. Even though I was with people who had been there before, I did all the planning. Some of the rides were so amazing. The way the rides incorporated 3D and everything was so cool. The Transformers ride was definitely my favorite, just because the ride was so amazing, not because I love Transformers or anything. They also had a really cool ride where you pick the music you'll listen to during the ride. And without even asking, we ended up in the front row of the very terrifying ride, that I wasn't informed took a video of you the whole time and I looked awful.
Then, Harry Potter. Everything was so wonderful, and amazing, and magical, and perfect. As soon as I walked into Diagon Alley, my mouth dropped and I wandered around in a stupor. I only wish I had had more time to just wander around the stores and take pictures of everything. The only issue I had was that it was so geared towards the movies and I hate the movies. So I didn't love the rides, but the stores and everything were amazing and I wanted to buy everything. But I decided only to buy a chocolate frog and a wand. I also got frozen butterbeer because how couldn't I?
