25. Dress Up for Dapper Day (part 2)

After being woefully unprepared for the first Dapper Day I tried to participate in, I started planning for the spring Dapper Day super early. I gave Paul an American flag bowtie and suspenders for Christmas, and bought a blue with white polka dots 50s style dress with a petticoat for myself to match.

For the day of the event it was threatening rain, which would have ruined everything (a jacket would have covered up the dress and that just wouldn't do). But during the day it barely sprinkled, which was awesome. I did 50s style hair and makeup, wore my poofy dress, and white Keds, because if you walk around Disney World in heels there's a good chance you're clinically insane. As soon as we got there we took pictures in front of the castle, before my hair fell and just in case it started raining later. There were several meet-ups scheduled, including riding the People Mover, River Boat, and Carousel. We rode the River Boat at the same time as a lot of other Dapper people, which was really cool.

We pretty much walked around the park, riding a couple rides, and looking at all the outfits. A lot of people had used the opportunity to Disney Bound as some Disney characters, which were all really clever and great to look at. I ran into a lot of people I work with, which was also pretty cool. One of the highlights of the day was meeting Lane, the cutest little Disney girl on Instagram!

Several people took pictures of us, and we got a lot of compliments, since we looked like the all-American couple. It was just such a fun experience seeing so many people participating in such a fun day. A few days later a girl I work with sent me a couple of the pictures someone took of us that she found, which was really neat. Plus the picture I posted on Instagram of it got the most likes I've ever gotten.
