Twice a year, an outside group organizes an event called Dapper Day, where park goers are encouraged to "step out in style" and wear anything sophisticated, from 50s and 60s vintage to contemporary chic. I was super excited to go to this event because I'll take any chance I can to dress up. I don't really have any super dapper clothes, but I tried my best and that's sort of what counts. After asking my mom to mail me my retro sunglasses and forcing my friend Paul into putting on a bowtie, I had a whole plan for the day.
Instead of waking up at 9am in time to do my hair and spend as much time at Hollywood Studios as possible, my alarm didn't go off and I woke up at noon. I rushed through getting ready only to have to wait for my friend Paul to finish "steaming his shirt." When Paul showed up with a wrinkly shirt at 1:45pm, we headed to the park for a couple hours and met up with our coworker Noelle and her roommate Alyssa. We went on a very rowdy Star Tours ride (where I once again wasn't chosen as the rebel spy, but the other Alyssa was), saw the Muppets show, and took some pictures. We lost our car in the parking lot and were almost late to work, but seeing everyone else's awesome outfits and spending the day in pretty dresses made it a semi-successful day.
